No complaints

Wow. It has been ages since I last posted. Not entirely coincidentally, the great summer vacation is happening during this gap. I am spending my time as a Full Time Mama while trying to gear up for when Life is let loose again on August 17.
Needless to say I haven’t done much in terms of Konmari. I also haven’t done a lot of other things. Mostly I have been concerned with things like…

Yet as I came home it was to a neat(er) home, a bunch of minion stickers on every glass surface available (courtesy of the housesitter), a nice writing work lead and a brand new Passion Planner.

I will most certainly fill you in on the Passion Planner later. For now let’s talk about an upcoming challenge:

No Complaints Week

There is an event on Facebook called ‘Klaagvrije Maandag’, complaints-free Monday. On August 17 all participants (a few thousand so far) will refrain from complaining for a full day. For many people, including me, that will be the first day of school for the kids and the day that we return to work (and/or search for it) in earnest. It will be early, rushed, chaotic, tiring and a smack in the face by that bitch called Reality. Huz-zah.

I find a complaints-free day somewhat lacking in ambition.

Here’s to a full week of positivity. A full week of silver linings. A full week of kindness and patience. A full week of keeping my mouth shut if I can’t figure out how to take action and improve the situation.

I am not a natural complainer but if I suffer a stroke between the 10th and the 17th of August, you know what happened.

  1. Funny, I was just thinking today that I’ve been in a terrible habit of moaning a lot of late (mainly about tourists in Edinburgh…!). I really like this idea! Although as I’m on holiday on the 17th, probably the week is a better challenge for me, too πŸ™‚
