Yeah. I got nothing. Well, I got 18,421 words. That’s not enough to make a novel – if even that was what it was to begin with.
I quit writing. I wrote on the 12th and then on the 13th I didn’t find the time and then on the 14th I didn’t find the urge. On the 15th I knew I had made the right decision. NaNoWriMo 2015 is not ending with a diploma for me. No certificate, no cheering cartoons, no t-shirt shipped to this side of the ocean. Not for me anyway; there are plenty of NL folks still going strong and I am sure they will make it to the end. It’s just that I won’t.
This is the right thing to do. I am ending this effort and taking it off my already extensive to-do list.
I wish everyone in the big race to the 50,000 words lots of luck of inspiration. Perhaps I will be there with you again next year.

Well, hey – 18K words is not to be sneezed at! Well done for the attempt, and even though the mad pace of NaNo isn’t for you this year, I hope you can keep writing, little and often if needs be š
